SNAP-8 (200mg)
$194.00$176.00
SNAP-8 (Synaptosomal-associated protein 8) is a synthetic octapeptide that is being investigated for its potential to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines. It is an analog of the N-terminal end of the SNAP-25 protein and is hypothesized to work by destabilizing the SNARE complex, which is involved in neurotransmitter release.

Research and Clinical Studies
Skin Wrinkling & Topography
SNAP-8 is being researched for its potential anti-wrinkling effects by competing with the SNAP-25 protein to bind with vesicle-associated membrane proteins. This action is thought to destabilize the SNARE complex, which may reduce the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates muscle contractions. The reduction in muscle activity is hypothesized to decrease the depth of wrinkles (1).
A clinical trial from 2021 reported that the peptide appeared to cause a notable reduction in lines within 15 minutes of exposure and a significant improvement in skin after 12 weeks (3). Another study suggested a 30% reduction in wrinkle depth after one month of use (5). SNAP-8 has also been reported to reduce the release of glutamate amino acid by almost 43% and may reduce wrinkles by an average of 35% (7).
SNARE Protein Complex
SNAP-8's potential to modulate the SNARE complex is a key focus of research. The SNARE complex is essential for the fusion of vesicles with the cell membrane, a process that releases neurotransmitters. By interfering with the formation of this complex, SNAP-8 may reduce the muscle contractions that cause expression lines. Researchers have suggested that the peptide's action potentially mimics that of botulinum neurotoxins, which are known to have a similar effect (6).
