Syn-Coll (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) (200mg)
$185.00$176.00
Syn-Coll, also known as Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, is a synthetic peptide that is being researched for its potential to stimulate collagen synthesis and prevent its degradation. It is designed to mimic the action of the natural protein thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1), which is known to activate the crucial growth factor transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β).

Research and Clinical Studies
Collagen Synthesis & Breakdown
A major focus of Syn-Coll research is its potential to increase collagen production. By mimicking TSP-1, it is hypothesized to activate TGF-β, which is a key regulator of collagen production. This action may lead to an increase in Type I and Type III collagen by dermal fibroblasts (2, 3). Some trials have suggested that Syn-Coll may be more effective than other peptides in stimulating collagen synthesis via this pathway (4).
In addition to synthesis, Syn-Coll is being investigated for its potential to prevent collagen breakdown. It may do this by inhibiting the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), such as MMP-1 and MMP-3, which are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix proteins, including collagen (5).
Anti-Aging Potential
Studies have suggested that Syn-Coll may reduce the appearance of wrinkles. A trial reported that a formulation with Syn-Coll appeared to exhibit about 3.5 times the potential for wrinkle reduction compared to a placebo. Another study that lasted 84 days reported that twice-daily exposure to the peptide appeared to reduce wrinkle parameters by 12% and improve skin roughness (6, 7).
Researchers also suggest that Syn-Coll may have other anti-aging properties. It may support the skin's barrier function by preventing water loss and could act as a humectant and emollient to help maintain skin hydration. Furthermore, a modified version of the peptide has been researched for its potential to inhibit melanin synthesis, which could help with hyperpigmentation (8, 9).
