Thymalin (25mg)

$145.00$138.00

Thymalin is a polypeptide isolated from the thymus gland and is being researched for its potential to help regulate immune functions. As a naturally occurring polypeptide, its levels are believed to decrease with age. It contains a dipeptide molecule, L-Glu-L-Trp, which researchers hypothesize may play a role in its mechanism of action.

Research and Clinical Studies

Immune System Regulation

Thymalin's primary area of research is its potential to regulate the immune system. Studies suggest it may stimulate thymic functions, such as the differentiation of T-cells, which are crucial for the adaptive immune response (7). In a clinical study on models with a viral infection (HHV-1), exposure to thymic peptides similar to Thymalin reportedly elevated levels of cytokines like CD4+ and CD8+ and showed no virus reactivation after two months (8).

Carcinogenesis & Longevity

Thymalin is being researched for its potential effects on tumor development and lifespan. In a one-year study on rats, the group exposed to Thymalin had an average lifespan of 1048 days compared to 949 days in the control group. The study also reported that tumor incidence appeared to decrease by 1.5 times in the peptide group, with a potentially greater reduction for hematopoietic cancer cells (7). Another study suggested that a combination of Thymalin and another peptide, Epithalamin, improved several basic functions, including cardiovascular, neurological, and immunological, over a period of 6 to 8 years (13).

Autoimmune & Metabolic Conditions

In a clinical study on models with chronic lymphoid leukemia, the combined use of Thymalin and other treatments reportedly resulted in an increase in physiological functioning within a short period (12). In another study on models with Toxic Goiter, a combination of Thymalin with an external compound appeared to mitigate the symptoms (9).
